Photography

Bored of taking lame photos with my trusty old Canon IXUS 55, I decided that the sole reason my photos were only worthy of becoming chip wrapper paper was because my camera needed to be pro. The logic behind it was simple – a pro camera surely equates to pro photos.

Well here comes the stubbling blocks, a pro camera costs more than poor mutlimedia developer can afford. Stumbling block number two was that they seem to have more buttons than you could shake one of my dodgy photos at and I had no idea where to start…

Using all my internet based skills I scoured the internet trying to find an ideal starter camera and plumped for a Canon 350d which I bought for £200 from a nice polish man in a back street in Putney, London with the help of Gumtree. When I got the camera back to base ‘The Flat’ I opended up the box and started playing.

The next week involved a lot of me walkign around taking photos of people who really didnt want their photos taken and me moaning that the zoom wasnt good enough to get a really detailed shot of their nostrils. So I bought myself a slightly better lens.

I have now opened up the realms of learning to use this camera as the blame is currently with me for the bad shots. I mean, I’ve already blamed the camera for the shots so the pro camera improved things right. wrong, the shots are still bad so I’m now learning, sharing my learning, and sharing my shots.
