I have decided that the summer is now over and it is time to start on my chapters. After an eventful summer at work where many projects have fallen by the wayside I have had to re-evaluate my proposal and come up with a new plan.

The focus of my dissertation is now based on how web based technology needs to be pitched at the same level as the organisations staff, and that the end product which customers need to use should also be pitched at the level of the customer. It is discussed that there is a digital divide between IT literate and illiterate individuals, and this is true within the UK.

The dissertation will propose that the use of web based technology can only provide a competitive advantage when it is strategically deployed to a corresponding skill set. This should explain why some projects fail and some succeed even though they are similar, it is due to the organisation delivering them and the end users receiving them.
